Today the second WordPress Zurich meetup this year took place at Liip’s cosy cellar auditorium with drinks and finger food sponsored by required+. Pascal Birchler gave a short recap of last month’s meetup and a glimpse of some upcoming events like WordCamp Europe in Seville/Spain on June 26 through 28.
Two presentations were announced for today’s meetup: Ivo Marino presented the Vagrant/Ansible workflow in their distributed team of WordPress developers using Percona XtraDB Cluster (Galera) with haproxy. When he mentioned Capistrano I knew that this is not as easy to setup as WordPress on shared hosting. But if you need a load balancer and multiple nodes on different continents to serve your WordPress site, his workflow might be just the right thing for you. And the best thing about it is that he’s willing to freely share the setup with anyone who’s interested. Just send him a message on Twitter or find his email address in his slides.

The second also very interesting presentation was given by Andy Feuz about building hybrid apps using WordPress and the well documented JSON API plugin – The Perfect Mix to Create a Hybrid App: Cordova/Ionic Framework, AngularJS & WordPress.
This edition of the WordPress meetup in Zurich was pretty technical and Pascal emphasized that also less technical presentations are welcome. So if you have any interesting show cases or anything else in relation to WordPress you’d like to share, please feel free to contact him via Twitter or directly on meetup.com.
Some more visual impressions of today’s meetup can be found in Silvan’s blog.
