Woo, WooCommerce, Their Supreme Wooness
End of October 2023, WooCommerce announced the transition from WooCommerce.com to Woo.com. This change reflects the informal nickname «Woo» that we have used for years, and the company is adopting it to represent their brand and company more broadly. The transition to Woo.com is part of a strategy to standardize and streamline product and service names under the Woo brand, such as changing WooCommerce Payments to WooPayments. While the branding and names may change, the underlying services and functionality remain the same, and any necessary technical adjustments are handled by the company.
So what do we call it?
You can call it Woo, WooCommerce, Their Supreme Wooness — whatever you’d like. But if you want to be specific:
- Woo is how they refer to the brand/company.
- WooCommerce is the open-source ecommerce platform for WordPress — Woo’s core product.
