This recap contains transcripts, as well as audio and video recordings of the Trust Square Regenerate event.

Last night, Trust Square co-founder Marc Degen and arte.community co-founder Ralf Glabischnig inaugurated a new bistro and digital art gallery at Paradeplatz in Zürich. As can be seen in the picture above, over 300 visitors including myself waited in line to access the beautiful new 600m2 open space that provides additional room for Trust Square’s ecosystem of technology innovators that Openstream became part of in September this year.

Various events such as CryptoMondays, the DAO symposium, The Switzerland Startup Conference and the Swiss Blockchain Hackathon are already happening there. Last night, Trust Square also launched their own TSQ stable token that can be used for all of their services, e.g. to pay for a coworking subscription or their unified portfolio to help technology and blockchain innovators get started and simplify their business operations.

[00:00:00] Stop talking now back there! Hello? So I would say we just start. I’m proud to see all of you here. And I’m very happy to welcome you’re here. And always when you start writing a speech, it’s like first thing you do is Google «speech». What are the key items you have to do? So you have to welcome the people. So check we did that. And then you have to tell the people, why are they even invited? So what’s the reason why all of you are here? And this makes me think. Why am I here? And I got stuck a little bit on this topic, because the very reason why I am here is because somewhen in 2015 I read a job ad of the Ethereum Foundation back then. They were looking for a managing director and there was one sentence. Unfortunately, I don’t know what it was. And this sentence somehow made me curious. And this is when I went down the rabbit hole of Vitalik’s blog posts barely understood anything. But this was basically for me a moment where I saw, okay, there’s something new coming. And I went further in the journey, so I was trying … I cannot code even if I pretend. But I went up with the journey (?). I found other co-founders that actually led them to the formation of modem (?) dot io, and this was basically the very first start by I entered this whole blockchain universe.

[00:02:00] And there’s also another coincidence that actually happened when I met for coffee with one of the fellow co-founders of Trust Square, where basically he made up the idea. Hey, let’s do a co-working hub. Co-working is a great idea just for blockchain startups. And this coincidence actually led them to the establishment of Trust Square back in 2018. And there’s one key thing that I realized is people tend always to think about what is the big decision I have to make. What are the big choices in life, what will really change? And my takeaway was, well, it’s a coincidence. There are so many coincidences in life that actually define what’s happening afterwards in your life. I mean, how did you meet your wife, your husband? How did you meet whoever the guy that introduced you to your next job that completely changed your life? Everybody, everybody has such a coincidence that completely changed their life. And this is basically triggering then a butterfly effect. But what is it all about? And how can we make coincidences more relevant? And what is the difference? At least for me, I have an answer. It’s basically we have to trust our own abilities and also our surroundings. So we have to be in a trusted environment where basically those coincidences can happen. And this is one key thing that Trust Square is all about: enforcing coincidences. Because by enforcing them in a trusted environment, this is, for me, the answer of one of the key drivers of innovation. And innovation is one of the key topics why Trust Square is standing firm. So in short, we just need a little bit more butterflies. And how, how can we create those butterfly effects? And the most important ingredient I see is basically all of you. It’s all of you. And what we do is basically we provide you an opportunity to create coincidence and this in1 a like minded environment within Trust Square. And sometimes you need a little, little help from your friends, from Trust Square. And this basically are four elements.

[00:05:17] One is creating an experience. Creating experience is a space where we are at. And also the next floor you will see afterwards is something we rented out to a large cloud provider that doesn’t want to be mentioned in terms of their advertising policy. And we thought, okay, well we could just rent it out and close it and keep it somehow in a retail space, sell the other next luxury handbags or whatever else. Or we open up the space. We open up this space in a very special manner. We open up the space for coincidences, for events, for meetings, for workshops. And that’s also why Ralf is here for a very first start of combining a coffee with digital art. And so we will launch in this space basically an open access for everybody to experience innovation, to experience exchange, to create and enforce those coincidences.

[00:06:31] And this shall foster exactly the connections we need, the connections that drive us. So I have so many interactions with people where basically I see and I feel that those connections can lead to something you don’t know all the time. But the important part is you just have to do it many times. And this is why we run a series of many public events focusing on tech innovation, to foster hackathons, to do idea stage pitches, to do whatever you want to create coincidences with. Another thing, what Trust Square is offering. Also, with all the experience we have with the team of 15 people we have from various different entrepreneurial backgrounds, we offer a unified service portfolio. So we streamlined our experiences in what does an entrepreneur need at which stage. And we differentiate basically two elements. One is how should I start? With whom shall I partner? With whom shall I talk? Do I need a token? So and what kind of impact does this have? So we all went through many of those experiences. We also saw many of those experiences and we bundled this basically in a service portfolio.

[00:08:14] Other elements is then the next stage. You start rolling, you operate. So where should your executive team basically or your whole team focus? It’s outside, it’s your customers, it’s building your product. It’s going into your market. Understand your competition. But most of the time when you start thriving, when your venture starts living, there is one key issue. You start growing, you have issues, you have to define process. When do you hire the CFO? Usually too late. And how do you manage the whole accounting? How do you manage employment across borders? How do you create the staff agreement? I mean, there are so many elements that distract you from the very, very, very purpose why you create a venture and that’s solving a problem in the market for your customers. And our team helps innovators. Be this corporate, be this startups to streamline all those services in – yes, we’re not accountants, consultants and lawyers – at flat rates. So basically the accountability and the cash flow security is something we know quite well, and this is exactly what we provide. That’s the end of the sales pitch.

[00:09:52] And the fourth part is we all live within a world that gets more and more digital. So we have to make this experience accessible. And you all got a green card, and this is basically the very start of the launch of our own TSQ token. And what is this all about will I tell you after Ralf brought you into the world of the Arte Café.

Ralf Glabischnig

[00:00:00] I have now a really difficult job that I’m between you and the SHED bar, which is one floor above. There’s a little bit more air upstairs and it’s a little bit colder. So I keep it short. What we do and what we brought here to the Trust Square and probably you have seen me somewhere before. I’m coming from a city far, far away from. It’s Zug and usually we are not communicating with each other. And everyone said when we opened up in 2017, the Crypto Valley Labs, there is a competition in Zürich, this Trust Square you should not trust them. And I said, look guys, it’s cool for everyone who’s joining this new space because we’re not competing in the space for ten, 15%. We’re growing something from 1% to 10000%. So that’s the mindset and that’s why I’m here today and supporting Marc and bringing a little bit of our experience to Zürich. And what we’re gonna do is you have seen that downstairs and upstairs. We want to activate that space over there. We will show different NFT exhibitions in fine art, in sports, in multicast, whatever. We will have a gateway to the Metaverse. So you will see a little bit more with …(?). We have also good coffee over there and the whole good drinks over there. So food, beverage, food for thoughts, everything here directly at the Paradeplatz. What does the Arte experience mean? Probably a few from you know, we took the Crypto Valley idea and put it to Dubai. Now it’s called Crypto Oasis over there. And in Crypto Oasis, we had an idea of art of a community for Web3 Metaverse NFT, and we said, let’s bring this community back to Switzerland.

[00:02:06] It’s a huge community in between where we foster all projects in that space and we are open to every bullshit. So that means in 2018 we saw the Cryptopunks the first time in Switzerland and we didn’t believe in that. My fault, … but yeah, we are there today and we are showing you things that if you look around you will see some interesting NFTs outside. What is an experience and experiences to talk here when it’s loud over there and I still try to get you back. I don’t go into the details, but watch the program. We want to grow that with you together. So if someone has ideas come to us. There’s a cool gallery in Zug I see over there the Unpaired chair from Zug, an NFT gallery, there’s another NFT gallery in the Circle came from Elementum. It’s also one of our initiatives. We will bring that here in the city center of Zürich in the next few months. So we are open for normal art, of course, we want to mix it because like digital assets comes closer to the normal financial system, the art comes closer to digital art wherever it is. So I will not bore you more, but the gateway to the Metaverse. In a few weeks you will see some VR glasses outside. You can go into different galleries in the Metaverse. You see what you see also online because everyone is talking about it, but nearly no one is doing something with it and we want to change that.

[00:03:49] Let’s do something instead of talking about and and let’s do something instead of talking about it. Let’s do something with coins. This slide I quickly want to come back with just I love numbers. I love numbers. You know, I came by accident in 2005 to Zug, Switzerland, a very boring city. Now it has a little bit more. It has a SHED club who hasn’t been there and some more stuff. But in Switzerland they are now 1100 companies in the blockchain space, 1100 companies and more than 6000 people are working in that space. Yeah, that’s a reason to be quiet. So this is a substantial factor for the Swiss ecosystem. I mean, how many people did Credit Suisse throw in front of the door today? At least we created a few new jobs and in Dubai, we did the statistics as well. And they are now 1450 companies in the UAE, 7000 people. So it’s growing fast. And the interesting thing is these are well-paid jobs in a very interesting environment and in an environment like this building. And I believe there’s something newly created and one of my favorite quotes I got a few weeks ago is: Do you know why no banks are in science fiction movies? Because they’re not banks in the future. So this was about some other stuff I’m giving back to Mark and tell us a little bit more about what you’re going to do.

Marc Degen

[00:05:29] Thank you. But before before me, we basically open up our large space to make you create new coincidences that will hopefully change your life only for good. Such an event can only be done with help from partners, and I’m very thankful, very proud also that we have an incredible lineup of our partners. There are also some upstairs where you can interact. Without them, it wouldn’t have happened. So thank you very much for your support to make this happen.

[00:00:00] This green card. So one TSQ is 1 Swiss Franc. If you download the app and activate your card, you get airdropped 200 TSQ to this card. What can you do with this card? I don’t bore you with the legal disclaimer, but in short. In short, you can use all services that Trust Square is offering with this card, meaning you need the day access, pay in TSQ. You want to have a coffee, pay in TSQ. You need a board room, pay in TSQ. You want to do an event. You pay in TSQ. There you go. I guess you got the concept. So and and most important part, you want to have a drink. Pay in TSQ. So either you spend all of it today, which is basically way more about the experience that you learn how this works for your next visit. When everything is open, the whole open access is here, and we can create experiences that truly matter in a trusted environment. And this is what Trust Square is standing for. Thank you very much. Glad you’re here and happy…
