Today I finally registered for MageStackDay which is back for its second edition on the 13th and 14th of February.

MageStackDay is an online hackathon dedicated to answering, closing and cleaning up questions on magento.stackexchange.com. The goal will be to get the answered questions rate up by at least a few percent. The long term goal is reaching at least 80% and getting magento.stackexchange.com out of Beta.

How can I communicate with other #MageStackDay participants?

  1. For some more social aspect of #MageStackDay and working together, we set up some channels in a Slack group: magestackday.slack.com There are channels for answering and closing questions and also a random channel for chat 🙂
We will send out the invitations tomorrow afternoon (in central european time) so please be patient. We’ll update the website if the slack group is available. If you don’t receive an invite, please check on the website first if it’s already open and then tweet @sandermangel to add you.
  2. Use magento.stackexchange.com to discuss/answer Magento-related questions 🙂
  3. Tweet with the hashtag #MageStackDay on twitter

How do we organize who works on which question?

We don’t want to overmanage it. Different people will prefer different questions. Use your favourite tags to highlight questions that suit your interests.

What happens at the physical events?

The physical events are for personal interaction with other #MageStackDay participants. They sit together, eat pizza together and can also discuss offline 🙂 Thanks to everyone hosting such a physical event!

What to do when my question gets closed?

#MageStackDay is also here to learn. If one of your questions gets closed and you don’t see a good reason according to the platform rules, put your request in the slack group or on meta so that we can discuss about it/explain it.

Where can I see the progess we made?

We set up a statistics page. Check out the link to the data and charts on magestackday.com This data does of course include all the activity on magento.stackexchange.com and not just the activities of the #MageStackDay participants.
