WordPress 4.9.8 Maintenance Update

WordPress released a maintenance update to fix 46 bugs on August 2. Besides the fixes, the update contains enhancements and improvements of the privacy data tools to ensure more consitency and flexibility (for example in mulisite usage).

    • try Gutenberg header wraps over text below on narrow screens
    • minor tweaks to Try Gutenberg callout formatting
  • Bundled Theme
    • TwentySeventeen backend editor: level 2 bulleted lists nested under numbered lists show numbers instead of bullets
    • Bundled Themes: Bump version number and update changelog in Twenty Seventeen for 4.9.8 release
  • Comments
    • Adding fields to comments_form args prevents checkbox displaying
    • Privacy: Don’t replace comment author URL and email with anything
    • Commenter cookie consent message should not be displayed if the cookie action isn’t hooked

One new feature in this version is the «Try Gutenberg» feature. It allows WordPress user to test the upcoming Gutenberg editor of WordPress 5.0. You can find out more on wordpress.org about the activation of the Gutenberg Editor.
